The Four Patron Saints and Their Days

St George, St Andrew, St Patrick and St David — and the dates each is celebrated across the UK.

Each of the four UK nations has a patron saint and a saint's day. St George is the patron saint of England, celebrated on 23 April. St Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, celebrated on 30 November. St Patrick is the patron saint of Northern Ireland (and of all Ireland), celebrated on 17 March. St David is the patron saint of Wales, celebrated on 1 March.

St Patrick's Day is a public bank holiday in Northern Ireland and St Andrew's Day is a bank holiday in Scotland; St George's Day and St David's Day are widely marked but are not currently UK-wide bank holidays.
